The deal, which was completed at the recent Fespa Digital 2009 show in Amsterdam, was for the XP44 machine with a 2.2x3.2m cutting table with i-cut software. The firm has integrated the table with EskoArtwork's SignUp and ArtiosCAD software.
"We were looking for a real workhorse," said Prom-Vlag managing director Rens de Jong. "We wanted a table that could cut a wide variety of materials and easily handle orders of all sizes, no matter how late in the day they came in. After switching to digital printing we found... there's clearly a need for time-efficient solutions, and we had to adapt our production capacity to meet these demands."
Since the installation the firm completed a 1,000 run job in 12 hours, which de Jong said it couldn't have achieved previously.
