The 2,322sqm facilities will output 100% recyclable banner posters, which are made from 70% recycled materials.
The 90gsm high definition banners are made from Prismaflex’s patented Graph’It material, which is a one-face polyethylene and one-face polyester hybrid.
According to the manufacturer, this can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste or incinerated to provide energy in line with European directives.
The banner uses Plastic eyelets rather than traditional brass or chrome parts, and can be printed across Prismaflex UK's print firepower.
This includes a Fuji Uvistar UV and a Vutek 5300, and six 3m-wide printers, including two Vutek 3300s, two Agfa Jeti 3 UVs, a Vutek 3360 EC and a Vutek QS3200r.
Prismaflex UK managing director Tom Weaver said: "Despite all the justified excitement over digital, banners remain the mainstay of the out of home market and it’s absolutely vital that we incorporate the latest technology.
"We must also build on our already-high level of commitment to environmental standards in the way we service this market, not just in the UK but also internationally."
Earlier this year Bristol-based wide format printer Urban Storm was acquired by Prismaflex and merged with its Newhaven-based subsidiary.
Following completion of the share-based deal, Urban Storm founder Sam Cook was been named chief executive of the combined UK operation, which has a turnover of around £3m. Cook said the firm was targeting "significant growth".
