K N Shivkumar, director of the firm said: "11 years ago we were pioneers to launch digital printing in India. We are a Xerox customer and will continue to remain in the future. This is our fourth purchase from Xerox."
The new Xerox 1000 will run alongside the existing two Xerox DC 5000 and a DC 700. "The fifth colour in Xerox 1000 offers interesting range of applications to experiment. We will be targeting security applications and personalisation along with ticket, scratch and garment tags printing," added Shivkumar.
The 1000 press can print up to 100 A4 pages per minute on a maximum sheet size of 330x488mm for a stock range of 55 to 350 gsm.
The addition of this new press will allow the 124 staff firm with Rs 4-cr annual turnover to service its customers in 15 to 30 minutes. "75% of our customers are walk-in customers and rest are retail customers."
Pankaj Kalra, general manager, industry marketing and business development at Xerox India said: "It is a proud achievement for us to have customers like Futura who have a long standing patronage for us."
This is the second installation of Xerox 1000 press in India. The first installation was done by Xerox at Kamalaya Studios in West Bengal.
