Mike Smyth has become the latest MCSi Mitsubishi Corporation staff member to leave for Printing Techniques.
He has joined the Northampton-based company as northern sales manager. This gives me the opportunity to return to managing a sales team, said Smyth. MCSi lost long-serving plate product manager Paul Rudman to Printing Techniques last October after 14 years with the firm (PrintWeek, 12 October 2001).
Smyth said he was delighted to be teaming up again with Rudman, and had found the opportunity to work with a fantastic customer database too hard to turn down. Smyth was part of MCSis sales team for 13 years, in the role of national sales manager for newspapers.
He will manage the Printing Techniques regional sales forces promoting all thermal and photopolymer CTP offerings. MCSi sales director Mike Warnes, who worked alongside Smyth, said the company had appointed two replacements.
Mike Norris will cover the southern region, with David Wilson, formerly of Fuji, covering the north.
