The printing industry has enjoyed success at this years Queens Awards for Enterprise with four printing or print-related companies receiving awards.
Domino Printing Sciences received its fourth Queens award for international trade. The firms exports, which account for 90% of its business, have increased by 20m over the last three years.
This puts us on the map a little more as the award is internationally recognised, said Domino corporate communications manager Terry Nicklin.
Glasgow-based M&A Thomson Litho also won an award for international trade.
Chairman Matt Thomson said the recognition reflects the success of our philosophy in that if you invest in providing the workforce with the proper equipment and training, Scottish business can compete in any market.
Zenith Printing & Packaging, the only packaging company represented, also won an international trade award. It will give us credence in new markets, said managing director Paul Ennis. Last year Zenith tripled its export sales to 4m.
Bovince won an award for sustainable development, a new category this year. The accolade is for best business practice and covers, among others, health and safety, training, the environment, economic growth, and leadership and management.
They [the judges] liked the way we do things in a holistic way, said commercial director Peter Rosen.
The Queens Awards for Enterprise were given to a total of 133 companies in the three categories.
