Premier will stock and distribute the Stora Enso brand from the middle of July.
The Lumi range, a woodfree multicoated gloss art printing paper and board produced at Stora Enso’s FSC- and PEFC-certified mill in Oulu, Finland, was previously stocked by Paperlinx UK, most of which fell into administration in April.
LumiArt is an ultra-bright and white product suitable for high-quality image reproduction, while LumiSilk is suitable for photo and art books, advertising prints and brochures.
Lumi is EU Ecolabel certified, with its virgin wood fibre sourced from Finland and Brazil.
Both LumiArt and LumiSilk are available in the weights of 90-300gsm. Premier said LumiSilk is a strong coated paper for the digital market and an important brand for the business to secure.
As part of the deal, another grade in the Lumi product range that will also be available through Premier Reel Paper is LumiPlus, an uncoated pre-print grade for use on narrow-format reel presses.
Premier Reel Paper was established In April after Premier Paper acquired Paperlinx’s reel paper operations and took on more than 30 former Paperlinx employees.
Premier Paper Group marketing director Dave Jones said: “Lumi is a well established brand in the UK and we are delighted to be able to make the Lumi range of papers available to printers in all areas of the UK through our 16 stock holding branches.”
In May, companies in the AIMS group, the independent consortium comprising of 10 independent paper businesses, also became UK stockists of the LumiArt and LumiSilk paper brands.
Premier Paper Group offers around 5,500 different product items from many of the world’s leading paper manufacturers, and claims to offer the widest selection of media for digital printing in the UK.
