The Lumi range, which is produced at Stora Enso’s FSC- and PEFC-certified mill in Oulu, Finland, was previously stocked by Paperlinx UK, most of which recently fell into administration.
LumiArt is a wood-free, multicoated gloss art printing paper and board. The ultra-bright and white product is suitable for high-quality image reproduction.
LumiSilk is suitable for applications where both images and text need to be of a high print quality, such as photo and art books, advertising prints and brochures.
Lumi is EU Ecolabel certified, with its virgin wood fibre sourced from Finland and Brazil.
The AIMS group’s 10 members are; GF Smith, Hull; David John Papers, Slough; Grosvenor House Papers, Kendal; Ovendens, Harlow & Ipswich; Paper 4 Print, Liverpool & Manchester; Realt Paper, Dublin; Rosefox Paper, Preston; United Paper Merchants, Belfast; WL Coller, Manchester; and Warren; Leicester.
Warren began supplying the Lumi range last month, in grammages from 90-300gsm, and is now the official stockist for the East and West Midlands, the North East and the South West regions in the UK.
Warren managing director Kieran Ferguson said: “Lumi is one of Europe’s leading ranges of wood-free coated papers and boards and its introduction only reaffirms the growing confidence suppliers have in AIMS’ ability to deliver a fantastic service to the UK and Irish print industries.
“AIMS’ members, by focusing on our local markets and holding stocks closer to our customers, can offer a significant service advantage against the national merchants.
“Although still very early days, we’ve already seen our Lumi sales surpass even our greatest expectations and we look forward to a long and successful relationship with the Lumi brand.”
