Premier Paper acquires Paperlinx reels business

Premier Paper is taking on at least 30 former Paperlinx employees after agreeing a deal to acquire its reel paper operations.

The merchant has bought the assets of Reel Paper and Savory Paper from administrators at Deloitte. The businesses supplied paper to the business forms, direct mail, and high-speed inkjet markets.

Premier Paper Group managing director Graham Griffiths said it was a great fit with Premier’s existing Onform Reels business, and he was delighted to be able to offer new jobs to a team of people with many years’ experience.

“This is an excellent opportunity to grow our business in this sector and the fit with our current business ensures that paper producers have a route to market, and customers have a service offer they can rely on," he said.

The new operation, Premier Reel Paper, will operate out of the purpose-built Paperlinx site at Castle Donington in the east midlands.

The senior management team is made up of Steve Webb, Sam Catterall and Ben Woolf. Other roles among the 30-plus rescued jobs include everything from sales and account management to drivers and warehouse staff.
