Ermelo plant manager Carel Daams said: "Providing Hexacomb customers with products that meet the FSC criteria is one way our products can help brand owners achieve their environmental objectives. 

"We've partnered with an FSC-certified paper supplier, which enables us to manufacture products to this more stringent standard."

The Ermelo mill produces materials for customers within a 1,000-mile radius, including those in the UK, Spain, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.

The firm plans to convert further plants and product lines to FSC-certified production.

Ermelo is one of three Hexacomb mills in Europe; the other two are located in Amboise, France and Aoiz, Spain.
