Gregor Gibbons has been missing since 2 July after leaving his home in Colston, Glasgow, around 6pm that evening to go to work.
The 32-year-old was seen in CCTV footage around Maryhill recorded at 6.35pm the same day but never arrived at J Thomson, where he works as a folding machine operator, about 3.5 miles from his home.
J Thomson has now posted an appeal on Twitter asking people to contact the police if they have any information.
Managing director Kevin Creechan told PrintWeek: “Gregor is a pleasant, quiet, hard-working, head-down type of guy. We have never had a moment of trouble with him.
“He lives for his family and football. I have spoken to his wife, Leanne, and she said this is completely out of character for him.
“We have had the police onsite a few times since he went missing and they have all the information that we could give them.”
Police Scotland and Leanne Gibbons are leading a campaign to locate Gibbons, who is described as 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build with close-shaven dark hair.
His car, a white Ford Fiesta, was found abandoned in Maryhill after CCTV footage captured him walking away from the vehicle.
It is now believed that Gibbons is on foot and the last reported sighting of him was on a canal path near Twechar between 8pm and 10pm on the day of his disappearance.
An avid Rangers FC fan who plays in his local Football Fans in Training (FFIT) team, Gibbons was wearing a black Nike hoodie, black sports shorts and black trainers when he left home but was reported as wearing a grey-colour hooded top in the later sighting.
Inspector Pauline Thomson of Maryhill police office said: “Our concern for Gregor is growing as he has never gone missing before and he is very close to his family and friends. For him not to be in touch with them is completely out of character.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Gregor or who may have seen his white Ford Fiesta to contact us. Any small piece of information could help us find him. His family is understandably very upset at his disappearance and just want to know he is safe and well.”
Police Scotland’s appeal on Facebook has been shared more than 2,100 times and a ‘Find Gregor’ page on the site has been liked by more than 5,500 people.
Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Maryhill police station via 101, quoting incident number 0119 of 03/07/19.
