The group has submitted the statutory HR1 form to the Department of Trade and Industry and the GPMU Central Midlands branch secretary, Bernard Rutter.
However, the Chromoworks GPMU chapel has issued a statement saying it believed that the national GPMU would call for clemency and negotiate with Polestar chief executive Barry Hibbert to withdraw the HR1.
The national GPMU and the Chromworks chapel have been in dispute over Polestar's proposals to cut jobs and change terms and conditions, which it initially announced in September.
