Polestar Colchester loses TV Quick

Polestar Colchester is set to lose the long-running job of printing TV Quick, after its publisher announced the magazine could close this summer.

Staff at the 122,847-circulation weekly listings magazine, published by H Bauer, have now entered a 30-day consultation process, with declining circulation figures expected to result in its closure.

In the latest ABC figures for July to December 2009, the 19-year-old magazine's circulation slumped 26.7% on the back of previous double-digit declines.

Bauer stablemate TV Choice, which sells for half the cover price at 40p, is the market-leading TV listings magazine with a circulation of 1.3m.

The title is heatset web offset printed and is produced on 56gsm super calendered mechanical paper.

David Goodchild, H Bauer managing director, said: "We have entered a 30-day consultation on the future of TV Quick. This is an internal matter for discussion and only when a conclusion is reached will there be further comment from the company."

Polestar were unavailable to comment at the time of writing.
