The 14-year-old company, which already serves around 50,000 customers across Europe, is targeting SME printers wanting to outsource work, as well as marketing agencies, designers and photographers.
Pixart.it, which has a €28m (£25.4m) turnover, has built its business on delivering within 48 hours for jobs placed though its web-based ordering system, which includes an already 500-strong UK client base.
Venice-based Pixart.it offers cut-sheet services for direct mail, transpromo and corporate stationery, as well as large and grand-format display graphic printing and point-of-sale jobs.
Managing director Matteo Rigamonti said that while breaking the UK market could present a challenge, he expects the company's "straightforward" ordering system, coupled with guaranteed delivery times, will help it develop a customer base in the region.
He said: "We believe Pixart.it can offer UK printers a strong digital printing service to support their current printing operation."
Rigamonti added that quick turnaround times would help customers meet turnaround demands of clients and "maintain a good profit on these high-margin applications".
The company operates a raft of digital kit that includes 15 Roland DG wide-format printers, a Xerox iGen3, six HP Indigo 7000s, two Durst Rho flatbed machines, as well as Mimaki, Zünd, KIP and Duplo kit.
In late 2008, the company became the first European printer to invest in KIP's latest wide-format colour machine, the KIP Color 80.
The 70-staff printer currently handles around 6,000 quotations per day, with 1,200 deliveries dispatched daily across Europe.
Rigamonti said: "The UK has long been one of the prime movers in Europe when it comes to the uptake of new printing technologies."
"We hope that UK commercial printers will now see the benefits of working with a digital print specialist that has also embraced the latest technology and can provide services to help them offer a greater range of products to their customers."
