The 3,437sqm facility at Herbal House in Clerkenwell houses 400 employees from across the group’s four subsidiary brands Photobox, Moonpig, Hofmann and PosterXXL. The group first announced its relocation to the site from the Southwark Metal Box Factory in December 2017.
Located close to the garage where the group was initially founded in 2000, its new look was developed in collaboration with London-based interior design firm Oktra as a four-storey, open-plan space making use of the site’s industrial roots with exposed original concrete walls, pillars, ceilings and an original crane hanging over reception.
Each of the four floors is colour-coded in cyan, magenta, yellow and black respectively as a nod to the facility’s history in the print industry as both a former printworks for the Daily Mirror and a home for the London School of Printing.
“Our new HQ directly reflects our ambition to deliver amazing experiences for our customers as well as our teams,” said Photobox Group chief executive Jody Ford, who was appointed in 2016.
“Designing our new space around collaboration and agile working gives employees the freedom to innovate for our customers and have impact at scale for the business and for their careers.
“It’s also a new London venue where we hope to share, collaborate and learn with like-minded tech companies and talent.”
The full fit-out of the new base took 20 weeks to complete, and Photobox Group has initially leased the site for 10 years.
In 2016, the web-to-print specialist reported 34% growth in sales – a boost in international sales was also driven by acquisitions.
