More than 30 staff members attended the Burnley-based firm’s celebratory meal, which was hosted by the original founder Peter Scott.
Scott, who was presented with a special bottle of whisky by the current directors, congratulated the workforce on the high level of success and stability the business is experiencing.
Scott said: “I cannot thank the current team enough for keeping the proud name of Peter Scott Printers flying high.”
Production director Tom Gaughan added that the firm’s next move will see it invest £500,000 in new machinery over the next six months.
This venture will help futureproof the business and enable it to keep up with growing customer demand, he said.
The firm plans to purchase a new Heidelberg litho press and upgrade its foil blocking and laminating machines. It is also set to extend its premises to enlarge its fulfilment department and re-house its finishing department.
The business currently operates print machinery including a B2 six-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74, a B1 five-colour Speedmaster SM 102, a two-colour B3 Heidelberg GTO 52 and a Xerox DocuColor 5000 SRA3 four-colour digital printer.
“It’s a privilege to be a part of this thriving business in its 55th year of trading. But even after more than half a century we are not standing still,” said Gaughan.
“We have the hunger for continued growth, and with conscientious staff striving to push forward with the imminent investment, we will mark a new chapter in the Peter Scott Printers story.”
The business currently employs 26 staff and produces print including folders, stationery, brochures, POS, direct mail, posters, magazines and leaflets for a number of blue-chip companies. It uses 10,000kg of ink and 1,115 tonnes of paper a year.
