The product, Florette's first cardboard pack, will be launched in January.
Florette is also looking at other packaging techniques as it expands from its core range of bagged salad into other fresh produce lines.
"Packaging as a whole is an area we need to look at and will continue to innovate," said Florette marketing manager Claire Jenkins.
Heavenly Veg is a mix of pre-prepared vegetables in a plastic pot with a separate compartment for a sauce sachet. Packs range from 300g to 390g and are available in four varieties, retailing at 2.79. Pots will be contained in cardboard carry sleeves.
Newcastle upon Tyne-based PDG has won a number of contracts from major clients this year including frozen food brand Findus.
