PCP 32pp web up and running

Precision Colour Printing has gone live with its 6.5m MAN Roland Rotoman 32pp web.

The Shropshire-based magazine and newspaper printer has bought the 60,000cph five-unit press as part of an ongoing 10m investment.

PCP managing director Paul Liggins said that the addition of the fifth unit would "enable clients to print either a special colour along with the four colour process, a sealer to prevent marking, or multi language catalogue versions".

The 32-page twin web press has a 620mm cut-off and can print on paper weights from 48gsm to 130gsm.

As part of the 10m investment, PCP last year built a new press hall and paper warehouse (PrintWeek, 5 February 2004).

Liggins added: "We are hoping to attract the quality end of the web market, clients whose magazines and catalogues have a high retention value and a quality perception."
