As series 10 got underway, the very first task for teams Summit and Decadence (pre-subsequent rebrand to Tenacity) involved t-shirt printing. Yay!
At least 15 minutes of fame ensued for Greenwich promotional clothing specialist Arti Promotions, and director Simon Thompson.
Boys’ team Summit chalked up a total fail as they didn’t even make it back to the print shop for the t-shirts they had bought and paid for.
Thompson, meanwhile, proved himself the equal of any of the contestants when it came to negotiating. While team Decadence came up with a passable #London design, they then ran out of time to sell the t-shirts and attempted to sell them back to the printer.
He baulked at the initial offer of £240 for the 60 tees and instead knocked Decadence down to £50 plus £10 for the hangers. Deal!
“I wasn’t going to buckle in the negotiations,” says Simon, who subsequently sold the t-shirts for £15 apiece.
Lord Sugar would surely be proud of such acumen.
