Yet this diaspora of dunces has nothing on your average walk-in print buyer if Roland DG’s latest YouTube short can be considered a fair reflection of reality.
Titled Stuff Print People Say, the video is more a catalogue of things print people dread to hear, such as: “Here’s the artwork that I know you needed last week, but I still need the job tomorrow.”
One scene that had Overmatter chortling into its morning latte featured a bemused printer fielding a request for “lamentation”.
“Yeah, you know, like it’ll bend but it won’t tear,” explains the hapless buyer. “Lamen… like lamen… lamentated?”
“Lamination?” asks the printer, with a remarkably straight face, before said buyer goes on to request a spot colour “about the colour of your shirt, but with a little more pop! Like my nails!”
Congratulations to the folk at Roland DG for this and the many other humorous shorts on their YouTube channel (bit.ly/RDGYT), all of which reminded Overmatter of another favourite work distraction: Twitter’s @PREPRESSHULK, whose rage-fuelled repro rants are the perfect antidote to the inane babblings on the idiot box.
