It’s on Saturday 19 May, if you’ve yet to diarise it.
Overmatter sends a (wedding) hat-tip to the folks at Antalis, who have pre-empted this happy event with a press release imagining what sort of paper the loved-up couple might have chosen for their wedding invitations.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Emma Oliver, creative papers product manager at Antalis, reckons that Harry and Megs will opt for something of a luxurious yet classic nature, “stunning in simplicity”, something more or less exactly like Conqueror Connoisseur with its complementary silk-lined envelopes, in fact.
Breaking news as this issue went to press was the identity of the printed of these 600 coveted items – none other than Royal Warrant holder Barnard & Westwood of London, with the invitations (gilded edges, natch) being scrupulously die-stamped by Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship at the company. Nice job Lottie!
While the type of card used had not been disclosed at the time of writing, we do know that Emma was surely spot on with another important observation: a Royal Wedding provides “a perfect upsell opportunity in wedding stationery, business stationery and other luxury applications”.
Let the bells ring out, and the fancy printing presses turn.
