Which can of course mean only one thing, yes it’s officially the Great British Summertime. 

Summer calls for cooling team treats such as ice cream, and here at PrintWeek Towers that involves a short walk to the Sainsbury’s around the corner. For others, it involves altogether more exciting and outlandish pursuits, as evidenced by the Awesome Merchandise team in Leeds, who paddled over the canal that separates the firm from neighbouring ice cream purveyor Northern Bloc in a couple of dinghies in a daring “merch/ice cream drop”.

Judging by the video evidence this involved some fairly inept paddle action, and inevitably at least one person ended up taking a ‘refreshing dip’ as part of this escapade, but we’re happy to report that suitable buoyancy aids were being worn and, importantly, as Awesome Merchandise pointed out: “Don’t worry we got our ice cream first!”

The PrintWeek team is left needing to travel further afield (by foot) to Waitrose or the Co-Op in search of what sounds like highly delicious Northern Bloc goodies.
