Peter Moody, the managing director of St Austell Printing Company, provided a masterclass in this age-old adage when the company was among a number of suppliers to attend a special event held at local beer maestros St Austell Brewery.
Prince Charles visited the brewery last month, re-connecting with the launch venue for his Pub is the Hub community initiative that began life in 2001.
Never mind HRH, Moody and the SAPC team certainly get a doff of Overmatter’s cap for having the foresight to be suitably armed. Armed that is with some sets of Top Trumps cards – the firm won the contract in 2017 and printed its millionth pack last year.
“The Prince was particularly tickled when Peter presented him with a pack of the Royal Wedding Top Trumps we printed last year, as well as our own Cornish Pairs game!” Round of applause, all.
“Cornish Pairs?” We hear you ask. This is an adaptation of the well-known game ‘pairs’, but instead of matching numbers, players have to match up 15 different Cornish landmarks including The Eden Project, St Michael’s Mount, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and, it says here, “Brown Willy”.
