Sun Chemical has appointed an outsider as heir apparent to worldwide chief Henri Dyner, and has named the successor to Europes Andy Cova.
Wes Lucas joined the inks giant last Wednesday (1 August) in the role of president, reporting directly to Dyner.
"While I retain the title and responsibilities of chief executive... Wes has been hired with the intent that he will become Sun Chemical chief executive when I retire," Dyner said in his announcement to staff.
Lucas, who is 39, is described as having "a strong background in sales growth, operational productivity, building companies and start-ups".
His career includes spells with Chevron, McKinsey and Nova Chemicals.
Dyners retirement date has not yet been set.
In Europe, David Meldram, currently vice president of finance, has been named as the successor to Cova, Sun Chemicals executive vice president and general manager of Europe who retires at the end of the year.
