The Europe-wide Onlineprinters Group acquired Solopress in 2017 to support its growth and establish manufacturing capabilities within the UK. At the time, the Southend-on-Sea, Essex-based web-to-print specialist turned over around £21m annually.
Now with over 30,000 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, the business was on track to clear £40m turnover for 2024. Its recent kit investment has included taking delivery of the UK’s first HP Indigo 120k in July last year as well as new Heidelberg, Horizon, MBO, and Konica Minolta equipment.
In November, Onlineprinters began transferring its UK customers to Solopress, with the process on track for completion by April 2025.
By consolidating its UK operations under Solopress, the wider group said it was ensuring customers would benefit from shorter delivery times, reduced environmental impact, and dedicated local support.
Simon Cooper, CEO of Solopress, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Onlineprinters.co.uk customers to Solopress. This move represents an important step in streamlining the group’s offerings, allowing us to optimise processes and prioritise the needs of UK-based customers.
“With our UK-based production facilities and exceptional customer service team, we’re confident this transition will bring significant benefits to our new customers, helping them achieve their print goals quickly, sustainably and reliably.”
Onlineprinters customers have been kept informed through a series of email communications detailing the benefits of the move and providing all necessary information to begin ordering through Solopress.com.
UK orders are being "seamlessly" transferred to Solopress, with accounts, orders, and invoices remaining accessible on Onlineprinters.co.uk for a further three months.
Dedicated account manager Tony Mason, who has more than 35 years of industry experience, is on hand to personally support Onlineprinters’ UK customers throughout this process.
“This move reflects the Onlineprinters Group’s commitment to optimising its manufacturing footprint and delivering efficient, sustainable and locally tailored service across Europe,” the company further stated.
“With its strategically located facilities and proven success as a high-performing UK print provider, Solopress is ideally positioned to meet the needs of all of the group’s UK customers.”
