The press is also claimed to consolidate both long- and short-run print jobs on one machine.
The ES3640a3 can handle stock weights ranging from 64gsm to 300gsm and can print at speeds of up to 40 pages per minute.
Oversized A3 paper can be fed from all paper trays and the press can also handle banners up to 1.2m long.
The ES3640a3 also offers integrated A3 and A4 duplex printing in addition to Graphic Pro colour management, which allows users to download colour profiles to the printer's hard disk for colour matching.
OKI Printing Solutions senior product marketing manager Alan McLeish said the ES3640a3 is "specifically designed to meet the needs of businesses" that require print performance, maximum flexibility and competitive running costs.
He added the press "is fully at home in busy office departments and can even be used as a highly competent short-run device to fulfil those quick jobs that just cannot be done economically outside".
