The global office products and services supplier, which has its European headquarters in the Netherlands, will use the desktop publishing tool for all its marketing materials, including direct mail and more than 700 catalogues.
Gert Vigener, Office Depot's European director of creative services, said that, as an existing QuarkXPress user, the company would save a "huge" amount on training costs due to its familiarity with the software.
He added: "We have recently updated our hardware and are now running on Mac OS X Leopard, which was another key reason for upgrading. Quark consistently leads the way by supporting the latest technology, and in this case QuarkXPress 8 was the first major design and publishing tool to support this platform."
