The Brentford-based display graphics and signage specialist featured in a report about the rate of inflation falling to 1.6%.
Chief executive Will Tyler was interviewed in front of the firm’s new Durst P10 160, which was shown printing out graphics containing headline stats about inflation to illustrate the report.
The firm has just made a major £500,000 investment in a pair of Durst P10 printers and a Caldera workflow.
During the interview with ITV economics editor Richard Edgar, Tyler said that wages at the firm had edged above prices for the first time since the recession hit in 2008.
The firm has implemented a 2.5% wage increase for its employees.
He told PrintWeek: “When the crisis hit in 2008 we lost 60% of our turnover in a month and had a couple of lean years.
“Work has picked up dramatically in the last year. It’s important that everyone who’s helped carry us through this is shown some degree of progress when things pick up, and that is reflected in their salaries.”
Tyler said turnover was on course to hit £14m this year, with further growth expected in 2015 and 2016. Octink employs just over 100 staff.
