Held in Poing, Germany last week, the open house showcased additions to its range including the VarioStream 9240, the Arizona 250 GT and the VarioPrints 6060 and 6200.
The VarioStream 9240 is set to launch commercially at the start of next year and is a four-colour press that can print at speeds of around 168ppm. Its target market is transactional print with statements incorporating variable marketing data.
According to Jan Dix, Océ executive vice president for digital document systems, the group has delivered on its promise to add a new colour to its VarioStream range each year. Three years ago the company launched the initial continuous-feed black and white product.
At the open house, the VarioStream 9000 range (pictured) was also demonstrated producing books and newspapers.
Océ has also expanded the range of products that incorporate ‘Gemini duplex technology’. The VarioPrint 6250 black and white digital press was unveiled at last year’s open house with technology that prints both sides of the sheet simultaneously. It offers speeds of up to 250ppm.
Océ has now launched the 6160, a 160ppm press, and the 6200, a 200ppm machine. Both are now commercially available and target users including commercial printers, print shops and in-house corporate printrooms.
Dix said: “With this offering, Océ has a full range of high-speed cutsheet printers, reaffirming our commitment to lead this market.”
Océ’s latest offering to the wide-format market, the Arizona 250 GT, was also demonstrated. The flatbed and roll-to-roll UV machine can print onto media up to 1.2m wide and 48mm thick and incorporates VariaDot piezo inkjet technology. The system creates variable dots by dispensing ink droplets in variable sizes.
