President and chief executive Erez Shachar said the wide- and superwide-format digital press supplier had suffered a "slow start" to the year.
A slowdown in investment, weaker performance in North America and Japan, and slow demand for consumables had hit results, he added.
The firm also blamed delays in buying decisions by customers waiting for the International Sign Associations (ISA) show in Orlando earlier this month.
NUR expects sales of 15m for the quarter.
For the same period last year it made a net loss of 4.6m on sales of 22.1m (PrintWeek, 18 May 2001).
But Shachar said he was determined to turn around the firm with new products.
