The Leeds-based finishing house, which was set up in April, has increased capacity and reduced its turnaround time for jobs by about 12 hours since the machines were installed last month. It bought the saddle stitcher and stacker at auction.
The company, which has five staff and a projected turnover of £200,000 for its first year, is planning to invest in a booklet-maker within the first few months of 2012.
Managing director Chris Smith said: "We set the business up because we realised there were only two print finishers left in Leeds and all the finishing work was being sent elsewhere. Originally we were targeting small sheet-fed print firms that couldn’t afford to pay £500 on transportation costs for finishing work. Now we are also targeting larger companies and bigger runs and we are working with a couple of big local web printers."
Smith added that the company had noticed a £500 reduction in its energy bills since installing the new compressor.
