The train operating company said it is “seeking proposals from qualified and experienced print houses to provide comprehensive printing services” for its railway operations.
“The selected supplier will be responsible for delivering high-quality printing goods to support our various marketing, communication, and operational needs.”
The company said the volume of work to be commissioned as part of this agreement could not be precisely determined and there was no committed spend or volume as a result of this agreement, however it anticipated that goods with a value of up £2.1m would be required over the three-year initial term of the contract.
Northern Trains said it proposes to enter into one contract with the successful tenderer for an initial period of three years, with extension options for a further period of two years to be taken in one year periods for a maximum potential period of five years.
It added that, at its absolute discretion, it may consider proposals for an initial term of four years with a further period of one year extension for a maximum of five years.
The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12pm on 9 September 2024.
Separately, Durham County Council intends to establish two new print frameworks, one for the provision of printing and mailing services and another for the provision of large-format display and print services.
Each worth £400,000, it is intended that the printing and mailing services framework will have a maximum of four suppliers, with the large-format display and print services framework having a maximum of three suppliers to fulfil the council’s requirements. The frameworks will both have a duration of 48 months and the time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate in both is 12pm on 30 August 2024.
Finally, Imperial War Museum (IWM) is tendering for a supplier to print the full range of its official guidebooks for all five museums and three children’s guidebooks. The guidebooks will be available for purchase at all of the IWM admissions desks and gift shops across five sites.
Each guidebook version is the same specification and pagination, but artwork will be different for each version.
Each version will be produced as a separate order however, if schedules allow, IWM will batch more than one version together for production.
With an estimated value of £240,000, the duration of the contract will be 24 months. There is an option to extend for a further two-year term, followed by re-tender at contract end.
The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12pm on 23 August 2024.
