Nipson's Mooney to retire from industry

David Mooney, managing director of Nipson UK has announced he is to retire from print, following 39 years spent in the industry.

In 2008, Mooney announced he was to step down as Punch Graphix UK managing director and retire the following year.

He spent his time at Nipson overseeing the relocation of the business from Dartford to York and steering the business through "challenging market conditions" and a restructuring of ownership.

"The recent restructuring of Nipson SAS will itself create a far more stable environment for the group and I am very pleased that Guillaume Dumarey, in partnership with Loic Dufeil, director of the company ADT, will take it forward," said Mooney.

He added: "Because I firmly believe my objectives have been met, I will be leaving the company on 31 July 2010. I am pleased to be leaving the company stronger than it was when I joined in October 2008.

"I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone I have met and worked with over the years. This is a great industry and Ipex 2010 is a great platform on which to leave."

Prior to his departure, Mooney will this month cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats in aid of the charity York against Cancer. Those wishing to donate should visit www.justgiving.com.
