Nipson SAS changes ownership

Nipson SAS has announced a new ownership structure under which Creacorp has sold its stake to two investors, severing ties with Nipson Digital Printing Systems (NDPS), which will now be wound up.

Loic Dufeil, director of software company ADT and print industry veteran, now holds a 51% stake in the company, while Nipson SAS marketing and sales director Guillaume Dumarey has the remaining 49% stake.

Ghislain Segard will remain president of Nipson SAS, which is now parent company to all the global Nipson subsidiaries, including Nipson UK.

A spokesperson for the company declined to offer any financial details about the transaction, but said the new owners had already put forward a substantial amount of funding and that more cash injections would follow.

The deal will not affect staff at Nipson SAS or Nipson UK.

Dumarey said: "This restructuring affirms Nipson's long-term commitment to its customers and employees, and I am absolutely confident the company will go from strength to strength. I think our start to 2010 really shows this and our excitement at moving forward will be fully on display at Ipex next month."

Nipson SAS also announced that it will add ADT products to its portfolio – a move that UK managing director David Mooney described as "great news for the UK".

Mooney claimed that the additions would boost its Ipex offering, which will showcase the company's monochrome capabilities and its flourescent toner for high speed security applications.

NDPS was a non-trading parent of Nipson SAS, but held a 53% stake in the company. It was placed into administration on 20 November 2009 by Paul Clark and Geoff Bouchier, of MCR.

Nipson's problems began in 2008 when its manufacturing arm Nipson SAS was placed in redressement judiciaire – the french equivalent of administration – from which it emerged in 2009.
