Managing director Ray Burn (pictured) said the firm had undergone the rebrand to reflect better the message the company was trying to portray.
"The site sells short-run printing, but equally it's an encouragement for firms to market themselves better."
Burn was previously an account director with Adare for 16 years, and is joined at A Local Printer by his wife Miranda, formerly marketing manager with Dataform.
A Local Printer has also created a B2B offering, Managed Solutions, which uses the Optimus 2020 B2B module to provide PDF workflow for online ordering of business cards and stationery.
The firm hopes to move around 600,000 of its turnover onto the service by March.
The Sussex printer plans to put in a B2 five-colour press with coater to join its existing Ryobi 524 GX with coater and dryer.
Although no final decision had been made on the supplier for the new press, Burn said he was "a big Ryobi fan".
He said he expected the final choice of press to be made at or just before Ipex, with a second platesetter also being added.
Burn said 100,000 worth of investment this year had been made on finishing equipment, including a Duplo 5000 bookletmaker and a Horizon AFC546 KTSC automated folder from Graphic Arts Equipment.
Further additions to staffing levels will also be made.
A Local Printer is aiming for annual sales of 1.5m this year.
