The Poole-based company has signed a deal to distribute the Intec CP2000 aimed at the corporate, in-house production and copy shop markets.
Operating at 36ppm colour and 40ppm mono, the press incorporates an Oki engine and can handle stocks of 55-400gsm. It can handle sheets from A6 up to SRA3 and banners up to 1.2m long.
Info-Tec managing director Ian Melville said it would continue to sell the Xante Illumina, but the CP2000 would be easier to distribute and reduce order times.
“The logistics of distributing the Xante range have created a considerable cost,” he said. “We started discussions with Oki a year ago, and it means we can liaise directly with the manufacturer.
“We are serious about this product and believe it will be a significant part of our future.”
It features a Harlequin RIP and prints at up to 1,200dpi. Mono sheets cost less than 1p per page, and colour 5p.
The CP2000 costs £4,999 and has a three-year warranty.
The Poole-based distributor launched the product at an event last week targeting dealers across the UK and Ireland. Delegates also had a preview of digital printing and RIP software product PhotoPrint 6, manufactured by SA International. The latest version is a fully Adobe-compatible CS3 product and offers improvements on colour control and nesting.
Info-Tec has teamed up with Kimoto to launch the FreeJet 320 digital flatbed printer, which can print on wood, plastic and metal. It also unveiled the Kimoto G-Jet shirtmaker, which is capable of printing on textiles.
