NAPM basic training course

The National Association of Paper Merchants (NAPM) has established a training scheme for staff new to paper merchanting.

The Introductory Certificate course consists of five two-day residential modules to be held at Arden House, part of Warwick University Business School.

It provides a basic grounding on merchanting, the industry as a whole, the role of the merchant and forestry, papermaking and pulp.

The courses, which cost 2,700 per person, will run three times per year, in January, April and September, for 10-12 delegates.

"There will be lot of quality one-to-one training and teaching, not just chalk and talk," said NAPM director Tim Bowler.

The NAPM worked with Paper Matters, a subsidiary of training provider Development Matters, to put together the course.

The course is open to all new entrants to the industry, not just NAPM members.

Upon successful completion, the students will be awarded the NAPM Introductory Certificate.
