Munro has spent almost 29 years at the business, and will continue to act in a supporting role until October.
He said: “Simon and team will do a great job for Antalis and after 28 years I think my timing is perfect.”
He said he had thoroughly enjoyed his career at the merchanting giant.
“It’s been a great experience with significant achievements and change throughout my tenure. The strength of the business is its people and that is clearly demonstrated by Simon’s appointment and the commercial team that he is inheriting.”
Fisher spent a decade at James McNaughton before it became part of the same group as Antalis in 2007, racking up more than 18 years in merchanting in total. He was regional business director and then national sales director for the past year.
Fisher: delighted about taking on new role
Munro praised Fisher's “wealth of experience and industry knowledge”.
“Simon has broad experience across the paper and visual communication markets in which we operate and has demonstrated unquestionable dedication and passion for both the business and industry,” Munro said.
Fisher said he was delighted to be following in Munro’s footsteps.
“The new KPP Group’s ownership, announced last year, brings both stability and future opportunities to Antalis providing new levels of support from both existing and new suppliers. We are already benefiting from new investments as we continue to strengthen our position in various markets and plan for the future. It supports our strategy for innovation and future development, whilst opening up exciting new opportunities for our customers.”
He added: “One of our key areas of focus is our leading portfolio of sustainable products and services, to help customers and end clients reach their sustainability goals. This is an area where we will see more innovation and new products”.
