The combination consists of two PrimaPlus saddle stitchers, up to 32 feeders and a three knife-trimmer.
At a mechanical speed of 14,000 cycles per hour, up to 56,000 copies of a stitched product can be finished in 2-up production.
Russell Cunningham, product manager for print finishing systems, said: “Depending on the product, output can even be raised to 84,000 copies per hour, with the installation of a tried and tested trio-cut device.
“No machine in the world offers more flexibility. In line with the Tandem design
principle – making two into three – the system can be operated as two individual machines or coupled into one system with the Tandem connection element, at the push of a button.”
The entire system can be equipped with up to 32 feeders and has a master machine, with product delivery to the front and a slave machine, with delivery, to the rear.
The delivery of the slave line is connected to the three-knife trimmer via the conveyor system and Muller Martini has claimed that the trimmer is easily accessible.
According to the company, the configuration allows for flexibility because two jobs can be scheduled on the machine at the same time, or both saddle stitchers can take the same job.
Muller Martini believes that this combination offers a solution that is economical and can handle the highest demands for production technology.
It claims it is ideally suited to short runs and can be expanded with inserting lines for loose inserts.
