The site has doubled in size to 3,000sqm. Within six weeks, a MAN Roland Uniset 75 press and Ferag mailroom kit will be up and running in the expanded area.
The first new product to come off the press will be the North West Enquirer, a quality weekly due to be launched in May.
The Newark site, which runs a 30-year-old press, will be closed and 12 of its staff will be placed at Horncastle, with 18 made redundant.
Horncastle, which currently prints 2m newspapers each week, will take over Newark's 700,000 weekly production run, but production director Jim Lee said there is enough capacity to double production.
He added that the North West Enquirer, which will be a 96pp full-colour tabloid plus regular supplements, was "a very exciting venture" to warm up the new kit.
Mortons plant to close down
Contract newspaper printer Mortons will close its ageing plant in Newark as the 10m expansion at Horncastle nears completion.
