The inserter was developed to act as the final module in Muller's "multi-channel system" (pictured), which can be used for both sheet- and reel-fed stationery and transactional mail.

The inserter, which is based on swing-arm and vacuum technology, can be linked online to the firm's cutting, trimming, OMR, BCR and OCR readers, folders and third-party printers.

According to Mailing & Mechanisation: "This ability to unplug and move modules to adapt to different circumstances provides a level of flexibility unmatched by any other high-volume mailing system".
