Mitsubishi and Alito in court

Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses (MLP) will begin a five-day trial against Alito Color on Monday (21 October) over claims of non-payment of invoices for a new press.

MLP claims that even though north London-based Alito used the Mitsubishi 3FR-8 for 13 months after delivery in May 2000, it failed to pay for the press, such that MLP repossessed it in July 2001. It was sold under contract at £1m plus VAT.

Alito Color has filed a counterclaim for damages for misrepresentation of the press’ capabilities or breach of contract.
