Launched at the start of 2007, the scheme is part of the paper merchant's ongoing Sustainable Solutions Programme of environmental improvements.
McNaughton group director for corporate responsibility Howard Browning said: "The 55 tonnes of waste paper collected would be the equivalent of either 92 pallets of paper or 11m sheets of A4 copier paper.
"While this is a great achievement and something that we are building on for 2008, we are also committed to reducing paper waste and re-using paper wherever possible."
Waste paper is collected from all sites within the group by its logistics subsidiary gm2 Logistics. It is then delivered to two UK paper mills that recycle it into new paper.
The company has also collected and recycled 22 tonnes of customer waste paper during 2007.
