The 60ppm machine was installed at the West Molesey, Surrey-based firm’s 93sqm premises earlier this week and has replaced a Konica Minolta bizhub C550, which the company has part exchanged after running for five years.
Director Colin McLellan said: “We do quite a lot of trade digital work for printers in the local area that don’t do digital themselves.
“This machine will add more variation to the work that we do; the long sheet will allow us to print banners and six-page A4 work.”
He added: “The Konica machine was the only one we saw that came anywhere near the quality we need for our trade work. The quality is stunning on the jobs we’ve run on it so far.”
McLellan, who runs the two-staff firm with his wife, said digital now equates to about 50% of the company’s £100,000 turnover, and is continuing to grow.
The business also operates a two-colour Heidelberg GTO 52, a Hans Wahli envelope feeder and Morgana folding and creasing kit. It also plans to invest in a new booklet line next.
McLellan Printing produces a range of products, including leaflets, posters, business cards, letterheads, envelopes, brochures and booklets, for clients ranging from trade customers to end-users.
