McKenzie Clark builds gallery for footballer's photography debut

Digital print company McKenzie Clark is sponsoring former Liverpool player Craig Johnston's photography exhibition at the Retail VM & Display Show in London.

The former midfielder, who scored 40 times for Liverpool, has swapped his boots for the camera to launch his professional photography career.

Johnston is making his debut at the show with his first collection, titled Reflections, featuring high-street shop window mannequins.

The McKenzie Clark sponsorship included the design and construction of the fine art mannequin gallery for the retail exhibition.

Graham Clark, managing director at McKenzie Clark, said: "We're pleased to be the exclusive sponsors of Johnston's professional photography debut. We've known Craig for some time and have always been very impressed with his photography and creative ability."

The 1986 FA cup winner has also won plaudits from the art world.

Sandy Nairne, director at the National Portrait Gallery, said: "These intriguing images by Johnston draw us, as viewers, into an exploration of the complex border-line between store and street, reality and fantasy, between outer and inner worlds."

The VM & Display Show takes place from 2-4 March.
