Mayo has spent a decade at the company, rising from regional sales manager to his current role as cluster director of the UK, Nordics and Australia and New Zealand for Kodak’s Print Systems Division (PSD).
PrintWeek revealed that Kodak was planning to re-jig its European sales structure at the end of last year.
“The changes presented me with an opportunity to leave or stay,” Mayo said. “I’ve enjoyed my time at Kodak and I’ve learned a lot and achieved a lot – we’ve changed the way we do business. Now I fancy a new challenge.”
Mayo will leave the business in the next couple of months, following a handover period with sales director Darren Chard, who becomes UK sales and marketing director for PSD. Chard will report to Giuliano Bianchet, southern Europe cluster business director PSD, with immediate effect.
The changes have been orchestrated by Kodak vice president John O’Grady, the managing director of worldwide sales at PSD. He said: “I would like to personally thank Martin for his dedicated service and significant contribution to the company, and I wish him all the best in his new endeavours.”
Mayo said he was considering various future options both inside and outwith print.
“I love the industry and the technology, and I’ve been fortunate to be involved in some of the biggest and sexiest deals in the industry,” he said. “But there are things outside of print that also interest me – I do charity work with ex-armed forces personnel, and I could go and do more of that, so my future options are open.”
Mayo also praised former Kodak Graphic Communications Group UK managing director Julian Baust and Philip Cullimore, currently president of Kodak’s Enterprise Inkjet Systems Division, for being fantastic mentors during his time at the group. “I’ve learned so much from them,” he added.
