MAN's Gatfield goes after long absence

MAN Roland Great Britain has confirmed the departure of its managing director Keith Gatfield by mutual consent.

Gatfield had been with the supplier, previously PPS, for almost 30 years. He has been on sick leave since September.

A statement from MAN Roland this week said he would not be returning
to work and thanked him for his service.

Chris Marks, chairman of the Omnigraph Group – the umbrella organisation that oversees the running of a number of MAN Roland companies in Europe – is filling the position for the time being.

Recruitment consultant, Heidrick & Struggles, has been charged with finding a permanent replacement.

MAN GB’s sales to 31 December 2001 were £38.32m (this excludes web sales). The figures show a retained loss of £485,000, but the firm did absorb an extraordinary charge of £650,000 to cover Ipex costs.
