Maincolour Print sold to Clowes Printers owner Loggenberg

Digital and litho printer Maincolour Print has been bought out of administration in a pre-pack deal by the owner of Clowes Printers.

The Macclesfield-based company had gone into administration with David Whitehouse, of MCR, on 9 November this year.

It was later sold to Arrival Data after a "major marketing exercise". Arrival Data was formed on 18 October, with Saul Loggenberg as its sole director.

Loggenberg also heads up Bowdon Investment Group – the consortium that purchased Clowes, another Manchester printer that fell into administration in July this year.

At the time of writing, Loggenberg was unavailable for comment, however when PrintWeek contacted Loggenberg at Maincolour Print, the number for Bowdon Investment Group was given.

A spokesman for MCR said: "Maincolour went into administration as a direct result of the impact of the current economic downturn. It was faced with a severe dip in its turnover, which was further compounded by pressure on its sales margins.

"MCR was appointed and following a major marketing exercise successfully sold the assets of the company to Arrival Data."
