The acquisition is part of Magnadata's strategy to become one of the "lead players in RFID technology".
Magnadata specialises in manufacturing magnetic and smartcard products. Norprint supplies labels, tags, tickets and software to more than 3,000 companies throughout the UK and Europe. Both companies are based in Boston.
"It creates a stronger business and the wider product diversity will enhance our ability to grow and develop into exciting new markets," said Magnadata Group managing director Roy Colclough (pictured).
Magnadata's customers include London Underground, Royal Mail and Manchester City Football Club.
