The firm had previously worked with Heidelberg at an informal level during the development of Prinect Printready and spoke on JDF workflows at the Ipex Innov8 theatre.
Prinect Integration System is a central JDF controller that manages all of the production functions.
LPC already had pre-press workflow system Printready installed, but has added Prinect Pressroom Manager, which handles all pressroom automation, and the integration system, which will control and coordinate both of the workflows.
LPC managing director Nick Lee (pictured right) said the system would ensure "everyone in our company sings from the same hymn sheet".
"Everyone gets to work from the same data it's in real time and the information is transparent," he said.
The company, which has a 4m turnover, has been undergoing an expansion as well as filling its current capacity, and aims to build its turnover to 5m in the next 18 months.
Lee said he hoped Prinect would eventually help the firm to achieve this. The key, he said, was to make the best use of the data it collected to drive the business forward.
"Once the system's running smoothly, we'll be able to analyse what work we're doing and make decisions about what extra work we can do," Lee said.
"We'll be able to build up historical data and identify whether certain types of job make a profit or not."
LPC Printing, established in 1964, is based in Hythe, Southampton, and specialises in corporate B2 work.
