Camelot's US partner Scientific Games Corporation is expanding its UK operation by adding a new security printing facility to its existing operation in Leeds, creating 50 jobs.
New York-based Scientific, which currently prints all the National Lottery cards at its plant in Atlanta, Georgia, has invested 8m to increase printing capacity at the plant with kit that is said to be" the first of its kind in the UK".
Camelot chief executive Dianne Thompson, originally from Batley, Yorkshire, said she was thrilled that the scratchcards were being produced in the UK and that there was no better place for it.
Scientific Games has invested more than 28m at its Leeds plant, which employs 530 staff, since 2000.
